Florence
The 2nd city we visited....
For those who have been to Venice, did you notice those water taps/fountains along the pavements that flows continously with water? That water is apparently channeled all the way from the French Alps (according to Rick Steve) ... so it is very pure and refreshing - perfect for consumption. But I was the only one who was willing to drink that water in Venice. The 2 others refused to take was xt calls "unsafe risk", trying to make me the guinea pig...
I was obviously ok from drinking the water.... the people also did so in Pisa... so when we got to Florence, those 2 dudes realised that it is ok afterall to drink water from such fountains. So we filled our bottles with it, and ate it with our lunch that day, kebab. I took a sip 1st.... afterwhich Isa Gan finished the rest of the bottle because he was so thirsty. We filled the bottle a 2nd time, with Isa Gan and xt taking a bit more of it.
After I was done with the kebab, I drank a bit more of the water.... and I realised that it did not taste as pure as the water in Venice or Pisa. I then tried to observe if anyone was drinking from the fountains.... and to my horror, no. So I warned the dudes....
dd: "Eh I think the water here may not be meant for people... it does not taste as pure as the 1 in Venice.... and I don't see any of the locals drinking from it too..." (they both looked abit stunned... but xt takes the bottle...)
xt takes a sip: "Oh yar huh... there's some taste to it... and really no one drinking from it leh... not like Venice and Pisa.... haha..."
dd: "Maybe it's for the birds... hahaha.."
isa: "Basket.... I drank af least a whole bottle of it before you guys tell me..." (he starts to look screwed at this point)
xt and I were just laugh away... dd saying: "I couldn't taste it at 1st cos of the kebab.... hahaha"
xt: "Don't worry Isa, the most we go doctor together.... haha" (Isa looks more and more screwed... especially since he drank the most...)
isa: "I drank the most la... shut up.."
dd & xt: "oh yar.... how much did u drink? 1 whole bottle?... haha... then you'll have stomachache before we do.... give it about 4 hours to set in... haha"
We joked about it the rest of the day... and we turned out ok. But we still don't know whether the fountains were meant for anything more than just aesthetics....
such a beautiful sight of the Ponte Vecchio.... notice how still the water is.... I think they actually restrict boat action here to make it this way....
at the Fiorentina Stadium.... but too bad it was closed for touring on the Sunday we went... so we did not get to view the statue of our hero, and had to settle for the 2nd best there - David.

.... was filled with monster replicas of the real thing...
.... orginals were here in the past... like really really long ago... but they figured that it was corroding too much by the forces of nature...
the Duomo....
..Isa Gan has such a heavy appetite for a small man... it's scary...
.... our illegal shot of David at Accademia... we found this nice angle that the security people were not covering.... haha
the Uffizzi has quite a mad collection of paintings.... however, most of them were of Madonna & Child, or Jesus on the Crucifix. Together with Accademia Gallery, we probably saw like 200 versions of Madonna & Bambino that day...
did I mention that our this was the view from our hotel?... yeah for hostel prices, we stayed along the Arno River.... was 3 mins from the Ponte Vecchio, and had breakfast provided... It was so chill sitting at the balcony playing checkers, having a beer and enjoying the lovely view...
xt getting high on ice-cream.... Italians know their ice-cream best man... all you get is Nestle in Spain and France... haha... this one near the Ponte Vecchio is one of the best we've ever eaten ... yummy....
we were so happy when we got a 6 pack mineral water..... but oh man, when we twisted open the 1st bottle and heard the hissing sound.... we knew we were fucked..... haha...
